My Story

My journey into massage and holistic healing began from a place of deep personal recovery. After a serious car accident left me wheelchair bound for six months, I had to learn to walk again — navigating multiple injuries and a traumatic brain injury along the way. That time marked the beginning of my journey into understanding the body, healing, and resilience.

It was during my recovery that I experienced massage for the first time, from my late Grandma Olive. Her gentle, nurturing touch was more than just physical comfort — it was a moment of being truly cared for. Through her hands, I discovered the power of touch to calm the nervous system and bring me home to my body after trauma. That experience planted the seed for everything that followed.

Living with and healing from PTSD — shaped by childhood experiences, the accident, and relationship trauma — deepened my understanding of how our bodies hold and express our stories. It also ignited my passion for self-development and continual learning, not only to support my own healing, but to create positive ripple effects in how I show up in the world.

My curiosity and personal healing journey led me to train in social work and trauma-informed care, where I gained a deeper understanding of the emotional, psychological, and social layers of healing. In more recent years, I have followed a calling toward mind-body modalities — including holistic pulsing and myofascial unwinding — approaches that gently support the body’s innate wisdom and capacity to release, integrate, and restore balance.

Through Massage with M, I offer a space for others to experience that same sense of care, safety, and reconnection that supported my own recovery. My work is grounded in empathy, guided by lived experience, and centred on the belief that true healing happens when we feel safe enough to listen to the body’s messages and allow it to find its way back to harmony.
